AP ROAMING & LOAD BALANCING
As a wireless client roams in an area covered by Newbridge APs advertising the same SSID, it will try and associate to the AP that provides the strongest signal. The wireless adapter on the client device measures the RSSI on received frames sent by APs to make roaming decisions. A seamless roaming experience is one in which a mobile client can move AP to AP without experiencing a disruption in network aware applications. Administrator can adjust the default RF settings (dBm, scan threshold, and transition time) to fine-tune the operation of client roaming using the controller GUI
Administrator may set up load balance to prevent that one of the AP gets overloaded, while others are underutilized. This help improves the Wi-Fi performance for all the wireless clients. While using AP load balance, AP may disconnect an inactive station, or the station with weakest signal strength, when there is a new connection request while AP is overloaded.
